MCS Group is delighted to announce a new opportunity for a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing international organisation as they seek to migrate their LAMP Infrastructure to the Cloud.
(Hybrid County Louth/Open to Remote)

The Role:

  • Lead the transition of LAMP stack to a containerized platform.
  • Manage high-availability infrastructure, ensuring uptime exceeds 99.95%.
  • Implement and maintain container orchestration tools.
  • Work with third parties to conduct penetration testing and apply security best practices to protect our infrastructure.
  • Collaborate across teams to standardize tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
  • Monitor and optimise system performance, troubleshoot issues, and enhance security and reliability.
  • Develop automation scripts to streamline operations and deployments.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and integrate relevant new technologies.

The Person:

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing high-availability virtual machines.
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies and migration processes.
  • Strong background working with LAMP stack environments.
  • Proficient in containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Experience with SSH and managing systems running on AlmaLinux.
  • Solid understanding of penetration testing and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and iPaaS, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash) for automation and system management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international team.
  • Full right to work in Ireland (Stamp 4/EU Citizenship). No sponsorship is available for this position.
