Job summary

London-based cloud engineer role focusing on Azure environment, IaC, governance, and secure deployments. You will work with a small, experienced team to turn designs into reliable infrastructure.

Contract is 3 months, £550 per day inside IR35 - umbrella only, with hybrid London work arrangement.

Qualifications

• End-to-end cloud infrastructure delivery experience.
• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code and landing zone deployments.
• Strong governance, policy and RBAC knowledge for secure environments.
• Experience provisioning Azure networking, storage, key vault and VMs.

Responsibilities

• Produce low-level designs for the target cloud environment.
• Set up an IaC platform to enable landing zone deployments.
• Create management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, and apply Azure policy.
• Configure RBAC to support secure access controls.
• Build and test network components including load balancing.
• Provision core services like storage accounts, key vaults, and file servers.
• Set up backup and monitoring services.
• Provision VMs with appropriate controls for app, middleware, and DB.

What You'll Be Doing

• Producing low-level designs for the target cloud environment
• Setting up an Infrastructure as Code platform to enable landing zone deployments
• Creating management groups, subscriptions, resource grouping, and applying Azure policy and governance
• Configuring RBAC to support secure access controls
• Building and testing network components, including load balancing
• Provisioning core services such as storage accounts, key vaults, and file servers
• Setting up backup and monitoring services
• Provisioning VMs (including app, middleware, and database) with appropriate controls

What You'll Bring

• Strong experience delivering cloud infrastructure work end-to-end, from design through build and testing
• Practical capability across Infrastructure as Code and repeatable landing zone deployment approaches
• A solid understanding of governance, policy, and RBAC for secure, compliant environments
• Experience provisioning common Azure components including networking, storage, key vault, and VM workloads
• Confidence working within a small team of cloud specialists and collaborating to deliver consistent outcomes
