Job summary

Victrex is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and optimise data platforms that power analytics, reporting and AI-driven insights across the global business. The role sits in the IT team and partners with Analysts, Architects and Power BI developers to turn business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
• Proficient in data warehousing and modern cloud data platforms.
• Strong SQL Server / Azure SQL and T‑SQL development.
• Knowledge of data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with Power BI and analytics environments.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SparkSQL or DBT.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and source control practices.
• Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure and modern data engineering tools.
• Manage data lifecycle from ingestion to consumption using medallion architecture.
• Build and optimize data models, transformations and integrations using SQL and PySpark.
• Monitor and improve performance, reliability and scalability of data platforms.
• Support CI/CD deployment practices, source control and code versioning.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues to ensure trusted business information.
• Contribute to the evolution of Victrex's enterprise data and analytics capabilities.
