Job summary

Greater Manchester Combined Authority is seeking a Data Architect to set the organisation's data vision and governance. You will design, model and integrate data architectures to support trusted data delivery across the organisation.

The role is permanent with hybrid working in Manchester, requiring strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data architecture and design.
• Proven ability to model data, design schemas and integrate data sources.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud data platforms focusing on Microsoft Fabric and Synapse.
• Familiarity with data governance, data quality, privacy regulations.
• Experience designing data pipelines via APIs and ETL processes.
• Proficiency with BI tools for reporting and analytics.
• Ability to explain complex data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Set the organisation's data vision and architecture.
• Design and implement complex data architectures and data models.
• Ensure data quality, governance and privacy compliance.
• Support data-driven decision making across GMCA.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver data infrastructure that enables reporting and analytics.
