Job Overview
We are looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer who will be responsible for the creation of all orchestration flows, flow validation, testing, and reuse for all underlying automation components. You will apply Cloud subject‑matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject‑matter expert. The Cloud Automation Engineer utilizes consulting skills including questioning, listening, ideas development, personal rapport, and subject‑matter familiarity to accomplish project tasks. The Engineer should be capable of consulting, designing, testing, implementing, managing capability requirements and integrating Cloud solutions into varied environments.
Responsibilities
- Identify, architect, design, and implement new automation workflows that meet the client requirements and integrate with the ES standard management tools.
- Perform flow and software modification after the solution has been brought into production.
- Install and upgrade the infrastructure components.
- Promote standardization and automation during implementation.
- Ensure implementations are aligned with engineering repositories (Playbooks, CMR) and portfolio websites/repositories (What we sell, DXC Portfolio portals).
- Ensure that existing implementation/deliverables/templates are leveraged to satisfy new work requests.
- Ensure applicable content standards are met.
- Ensure peer‑review deliverables are logged.
- Store engineering related collateral in the approved configuration‑management repository.
- Produce, review and participate in low‑level designs based on high‑level designs and client requirements.
- Ensure projects and tasks are performed with the highest quality and in accordance with documentation and predefined timelines.
Key Deliverables & Accountabilities
- Implement cloud automation according to the technical plan, cost, and timeframe.
- Might also include architect tasks if required by the project.
- Customer satisfaction and delivering on commitments.
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years’ experience in an advanced support role or equivalent.
- Customer‑facing experience.
Additional Requirements
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Eligibility for high‑level UK security clearance due to customer requirements.

Technical Skills
- Essential
- Several years of ITO operational and/or engineering experience.
- Cloud Foundation Automation (Aria Automation, vRA) and Cloud Foundation Operations Orchestrator (Aria Orchestrator, vRO) development experience.
- Open Text Operations Orchestration and/or Red Hat Ansible development experience. Ability to author and deploy automated workflows.
- XML knowledge.
- Working knowledge of platforms (Wintel, Linux, Virtualization), networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS), and database environments.
- Excellent understanding of ITSM/ITIL framework and processes.
- Proficient knowledge of DXC workflow tools.
- MS Office proficiency.
- Desirable
- Experience with Java, Python, Windows PowerShell, Perl, Linux Shell, SQL scripting, or VBScript.
- Active Directory knowledge.
- Working knowledge of networking components (TCP/IP, DNS, VLAN) and database environments.
