As a Cloud Architect, you’ll provide technical leadership and strategic guidance to ensure our cloud-first solutions meet the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability. You’ll collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps engineers, and product teams; to design architectures that support high-traffic, transactional services. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of Bauer’s digital platforms and ensuring operational excellence across our systems.

You’ll act as a mentor, a subject matter expert, and a key link between technical teams, driving innovation and alignment with business goals.

Your role

You will lead architectural initiatives and provide technical oversight across cloud-native platforms.

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

• Evangelising best practices and mentoring development and DevOps teams.
• Acting as the primary link between technical teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
• Providing subject matter expertise in cloud-first development principles.
• Participating in product roadmap sessions and ensuring technical alignment.
• Ensuring solutions meet high standards of security, resilience, and performance.
• Reducing technical debt and identifying opportunities for improvement in our tech stack.
• Deputising for the Principal Platform Architect when required.

The Skills you will bring

• In-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of modern software delivery pipelines (CI / CD).
• Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and high-traffic systems.
• Familiarity with Open Source Software and Open API techniques.
• Awareness of modern security practices and data handling challenges.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
• Proven experience mentoring and leading technical teams.
• Experience in software development, DevOps, or architecture roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; cloud certifications desirable.
