Job summary

Sumer Group is seeking a Digital Finance Accounts Assistant in Sheffield to support outsourced finance tasks within a modern, technology-driven environment. You will handle purchase and sales invoices, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping activities for clients, helping ensure accurate financial records.

Ideal candidates are studying AAT Level 3 or 4 with experience in accounts administration, and are comfortable with cloud accounting software and Excel.

Qualifications

• Currently studying AAT Level 3 or 4
• Experience in accounts, bookkeeping, finance administration or accounts assistant role
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently
• Manage bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with payment runs and supplier payments
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software
• Process and reconcile employee expenses
• Prepare VAT returns and support compliance requirements
• Manage client finance inboxes and respond to queries
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Assist with management accounts preparation
• Help clients transition to and make best use of digital accounting systems
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies through technology
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
