Job Summary

The Clinical Trials Assistant (CTA) will support a portfolio of clinical trials from study set‑up to archiving, complying with trial protocols, laboratory manuals and regulatory standards.

Postholders will work with the Neurosciences Research Team, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and the University of Sheffield, providing administrative and clinical support and managing study data and documentation.

This is a fixed‑term, 14‑month contract, available as either full‑time or part‑time.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with study set‑up, including documentation and obtaining approvals from the Clinical Research and Innovation Office (CRIO).
  • Collect, record and maintain research data records, enter activity data and extract information from databases.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support to Research Nurses, performing clinical tests and investigations.
  • Process and ship samples; assist with screening and recruitment activities.
  • Support and, where appropriate, take responsibility for individual studies within the Neurosciences portfolio.
About the Team and Organisation

The CTA will join the Neurosciences Research Team, one of the Directorate Research Teams at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH). The team collaborates with the University of Sheffield and the NIHR Sheffield Clinical Research Facility (CRF) to deliver high‑quality clinical research.
