Clinical Trial Manager – Overview

Applications are invited for a Clinical Trial Manager to work within the NDPCHS Primary Care Clinical Trials Unit (PC‑CTU) led by Prof Chris Butler and Prof Ly‑Mee Yu. The PC‑CTU conducts trials across a broad range of community health issues, including cardiovascular and metabolic disease, cancer, infectious diseases, childhood illnesses, mental health and wellbeing, obesity, poor diet and smoking. The unit offers a friendly, supportive team environment and training opportunities to advance a career in trial management.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on one of the studies currently in set‑up in the unit.
  • Develop trial essential documents and secure relevant regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct site initiation visits, manage recruitment and study logistics.
  • Contribute to data analysis and oversight committees.
  • Handle all key tasks across the trial life‑cycle and line‑manage either the study itself or the trial management group.
Qualifications
  • Hold a good first degree, or have equivalent experience in a research environment.
  • Have detailed knowledge of the full life‑cycle of study management.
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to work well in a busy team environment.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Working Conditions & Employment
  • Full‑time position; part‑time and flexible working arrangements can be considered.
  • Full employment for a period of two years in the first instance, with possibility of extension.
  • Remote working possible with prior agreement with line manager.
