Job summary

Hackney Children's & Families Service is seeking an experienced Clinical Team Lead to steer its pioneering trauma-informed mental health service for children, young people, and families. You will lead a multidisciplinary clinical team and deliver specialist assessments and interventions in a safeguarding-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Systemic Psychotherapy, Child Psychotherapy or equivalent.
• At least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
• Extensive experience delivering therapeutic assessments and interventions with children, young people and families with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Senior Therapists, Clinical Therapists and an Assistant Psychologist.
• Provide specialist clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions for children, young people, carers and families.
• Support looked-after children, care leavers, youths in Youth Justice and those on the Edge of Care.
• Deliver consultation, reflective practice, supervision and training to social workers and Children’s Services staff.
• Drive service development, innovation, research and quality improvement initiatives.
• Champion anti-racist, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.
• Build strong partnerships with CAMHS, education providers and other professional networks.

Are you an experienced Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Child Psychotherapist or Therapeutic Practitioner looking for an opportunity to lead and shape a pioneering, trauma-informed mental health service?

Hackney Children's & Families Service is seeking an exceptional Clinical Team Lead to lead its innovative in-house Mental Health Service, supporting some of the borough's most vulnerable children, young people, families and care leavers. Working within Hackney's Systemic, Trauma-informed and Anti-Racist (STAR) practice model, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality therapeutic interventions while leading a skilled multidisciplinary clinical team.

About the Role

As Clinical Team Lead, you will:

What We're Looking For:

You will have:

• Professional qualification in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Systemic Psychotherapy, Child Psychotherapy or equivalent.
• At least 5 years' post-qualification experience.
• Extensive experience delivering therapeutic assessments and interventions with children, young people and families experiencing complex needs.
• Significant leadership, supervision and team management experience.
• Strong knowledge of trauma, attachment, child development and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
• Experience working within multi‑agency safeguarding environments.
• A commitment to anti‑racist, anti‑oppressive and inclusive practice.
