Job description
Clinical Support Worker – MacDonald Ward – Conquest Hospital

The role will be to provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula, undertake physiological observations, escort patients from clinical areas, provide personal care and accurately document all interventions. You will also be responsible for booking hospital transport to take patients home. The position is part of the NHS Affiliated Clinical Framework (AF) at Band 3.

Responsibilities
  • Provide delegated clinical procedures such as removal of cannula.
  • Undertake physiological observations.
  • Escort patients from clinical areas.
  • Provide personal care.
  • Accurately document all interventions.
  • Book hospital transport to take patients home.
  • Support patients who are acutely unwell, have dementia or delirium, difficulty walking, falls and frailty.
  • Participate in induction and all Trust statutory and mandatory training.
Qualifications
  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or functional skills, or equivalent qualification.
  • Care Certificate and/or NVQ Level 2 in health and social care, or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Clinical Support Worker or hospital experience desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care.
