Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a Health Care Assistant/Phlebotomist within Forth Valley Community Nursing Services as part of CTAC. You will work with General Practice and Community Nursing Teams, carrying out phlebotomy and blood pressure monitoring, and will be based in a team environment within the care and treatment service.

The role requires good communication, flexibility and teamwork, with willingness to travel throughout the service area.

Job description

A vacancy has arisen for a Health Care assistant/Phlebotomist within Forth Valley Community Nursing Services as part of the Community Treatment and Care service (CTAC). Changes within Primary Care have led to the opportunity for Health Care Assistants to work within the expanding care and treatment service. This post will work closely with the General Practice and Community Nursing Teams.

It is essential that you possess good communication skills, are flexible and adaptable and can work well within a team while using your own initiative.

You will be based within a team and will carry out delegated work daily that will include phlebotomy and Blood Pressure monitoring.

Good IT skills are desirable. Training will however be provided and NHS Forth Valley is supportive of lifelong learning and development. It is also essential that you are keen to learn and develop new skills.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
