About The Role

We are looking for a committed and dedicated Clinical Support Worker who is passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life. You must be willing to work both days and nights, and have a genuine desire to provide a high standard of support that enables young people to learn and develop through education and positive life experiences.

Position: ClinicalSupport Worker - Children’s Services

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Ideally looking for candidates who can drive, due to commitments needed by the service, however, we can be flexible with this.

For Support Worker positions although an understanding of the role is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided. Ideally, you will:

  • Hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Have previous experience supporting children and young people with complex clinical medical needs.

You will need to be adaptable and flexible with excellent communication skills and able to work as part of the team.

The role
  • You will provide compassionate, hands-on care to children and young people with complex clinical medical needs in a warm, homely residential environment
  • Work alongside a skilled multi-disciplinary team, including nurses, therapists and education staff.
  • Assist with clinical tasks such as medication administration, feeding support, mobility and monitoring - full training provided.
  • Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
  • Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice. Supporting them to maintain contact with families or significant others is a key priority.
  • The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day to day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care and hygiene.

*The successful candidate will receive robust clinical training to support children aged 0 to 18 with complex clinical medical needs, including:

  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilator support
  • Respiratory needs
  • Gastrostomy care
