A healthcare provider in the UK is looking for Clinical Support Workers to join their dedicated team at Luton and Dunstable Hospital. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support, work under the supervision of registered nurses, and contribute to patient care, including personal support and clinical tasks. This role involves a commitment to high-quality care and teamwork in a busy environment. Shift patterns may include days, nights, and weekends.

All new Clinical Support Workers will start with a comprehensive induction and receive ongoing pastoral and technical support from our Recruitment and Education Support Assistants (RESA). You will be supported to achieve your Care Certificate to gain the skills and knowledge needed to practice safe and compassionate care. Following induction and a 6 month probationary period, you will be enrolled onto our development programme to support your ongoing growth in the role.

Under the direction of a registered nurse/nursing associate, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a high standard of care to patients. This includes personal care and limited delegated clinical tasks. The Trust is committed to a safe, clean and caring environment.
ACE- CSWs are automatically enrolled 6-12 months into the role. Includes a 3 day course based on THRIVE values (teamwork, civility, patient experience, resilience and wellbeing) and a quality improvement project. BEAC H - CSWs are automatically enrolled 6-12 months into the role to improve effective escalation of critically ill patients. Care Certificate is required for non-registered clinical support workers employed by the NHS since 2015 with two parts: the Practice Assessment Document (PAD) and the 15 ESR Care Certificate modules. We offer full support throughout the completion of the Care Certificate. Disabilities awareness is included (visual/hearing impairment, frailty, hidden disabilities, learning disabilities and physical disabilities). Experience includes 2 weeks supernumerary, local induction, competency-based training, and regular supportive 1:1 meetings with RESA.

You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the shift and will be accountable to the Registered Nurse you are working with and to the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse of the ward or department. You will work to your level of experience, assessed competence and skills acquired. Immediate and direct supervision is required in unfamiliar areas; do not undertake tasks you are not familiar with. Working under supervision of a registered nurse or nursing associate, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care to patients. Your duties may include carrying out ECGs, monitoring blood glucose levels, performing regular patient observations, and assisting patients who need additional support with personal care.
