North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) and University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) have merged as of 1st July 2026 to become Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This creates an exciting future that brings together the best of both organisations. As a single, strong and sustainable organisation, we will not only be able to deliver better outcomes for our patients and fairer care for our population, but it will also provide greater opportunities for our people.

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance. When applying, speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate flexible working, so your work life fits around your home life.

We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the Trust.

Please note the use of AI is monitored and if applicants have used it then they are required to declare this.

If you're a motivated and reliable team player who thrives in a busy clinical environment where every day is different, join our new Minor Injuries team and help shape the future of urgent care at Southmead Hospital.

This role combines healthcare portering, patient support and operational duties within our Minor Injuries Unit, ensuring the smooth running of the service and a positive patient experience.

You will be responsible for escorting and transferring patients; transporting equipment, documents and supplies throughout the department; preparing areas for patient care; managing stock levels; and helping maintain a safe, organised and welcoming environment.

With a friendly, approachable manner and excellent communication skills, you will play an important role in supporting patients and families who may feel concerned or distressed when attending the Minor Injuries Unit.

You will be able to prioritise tasks effectively, supporting the smooth running of the unit and enabling clinical teams to deliver safe, efficient patient care.

As the role involves manual handling and regular patient interaction, you must be able to meet its physical and emotional demands.

Whilst experience in healthcare, portering, facilities, hospitality, retail, warehouse or other customer-facing environments would be beneficial, we are equally interested in your values, attitude and willingness to learn. Full training will be provided.
