Job summary

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Crisis Triage & Assessment Hub. The post involves working across a 24/7 roster, including nights, days and weekends, in a fast-paced environment and providing clinical leadership to the team.

Job description

An exciting opportunity have arisen within the Tees Crisis Triage & Assessment Hub for a competent, confident and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist. The successful applicant will be expected to work across a 24 hour,7 days a week roster and will expect to work both nights, days and some weekends, 8-8 shifts.

The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and provide clinical leadership with in the Tees Crisis Service working alongside the wider leadership team and utilising skills to support colleagues.

The team works collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of individuals in an acute mental health crisis and offer support to their family /carers to support to prevent hospital admission. The team are friendly, professional, and innovative. They have a common interest in living the trust values. Coproduction and collaboration are key drivers of the team's work ethic.

Strong team working is essential, requiring networking with a variety of people, as well as working in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the team., Main duties of the role will include leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence-based practice, ensuring high professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct.

You will provide live clinical supervision to support with complex decision making and risk assessment. Having a prescribing qualification is an advantage but not essential if you have have a willingness to work towards within the initial 12 months.

The post holder will support the team manager and other senior clinical staff in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework. And will participate in clinical/professional and management supervision, contribute to multi-disciplinary team working.

The post holder must abide by all Trust policies and procedures and be able to respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.

The post holder must be able to travel independently across the DTV/NY area.
