Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in the UK seeks a Clinical Specialist North to support DBS and SCS implantations and follow-ups across NHS and private hospitals. The ideal candidate will travel extensively, covering Yorkshire or Manchester, and contribute to customer education and regional strategy while building relationships with hospital staff.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in a scientific discipline.
• Experience in medical devices industry or as a physiotherapist/pain nurse moving into industry.
• Knowledge of UK healthcare market.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary technical support to customers during implantation and follow-up.
• Perform complex device/programming troubleshooting independently.
• Assist in the management and delivery of regional customer education training events.
• Develop understanding of regional account objectives and strategy for all accounts in the region.
• Build strong professional relationships in hospital settings.

The Opportunity

Abbott’sNeuromodulationbusiness is expanding the team by recruiting for a Clinical SpecialistNorth to support customers and deliver best in class implantation and follow-up of DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) and SCS (Spinal Cord Stimulation) across designated NHS and private hospitals.

Ideal candidate’s location: Yorkshire or Manchester

What you’ll do:

• Provide primary technical support to customers during implantation and follow-up
• Perform Complex device/ programming troubleshooting independently
• Assist in the management and delivery of regional customer education training events
• Develop a clear understanding of regional account objectives and strategy for all accounts within the assigned region
• To build strong and professional relationships in various hospital settings
• Support regional NMD business strategy, via product implantation cover in accounts as agreed with the leadership team

This is a field-based role with willingness to travel min 75% of the time.

What you’ll need

• BSc degree, ideally in a Scientific discipline
• Experience in medical devices industry or physiotherapist/Pain Nurse looking to move into industry
• Knowledge of UK healthcare market
• Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adaptable with regards working hours and location of customer support
• Strong Communication Skills: Verbal and written.
• Familiarity with clinic setting and operating room procedures and protocol (preferred)
• Good keyboard skills and presentation skills to include MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point and Email
