Job summary

A healthcare provider in Scotland is seeking a Clinical Skills and Simulation Practitioner to support immersive simulation sessions and clinical skills training. This role requires a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to use various clinical resources. The position is based at University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock, offering a weekday schedule of 37 hours per week. Applicants must have a valid UK driving licence.

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Skills and Simulation Practitioner within our Medical Education Department based at University Hospital Crosshouse

Hours and Shift Pattern

37 hours per week Monday to Friday no shift work

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

UK Driving Licence: A UK car licence is essential to this role.

What you will do

You will assist in the preparation and set up of the technical elements of immersive simulation and clinical skills sessions. You will use a range of equipment and supplies including moulage resources, part task trainers, computer-based simulators, audio-visual equipment and appropriate medical and surgical equipment. You will effectively utilise resources under the direction of the Clinical Skills/Simulation Technical Co-ordinator and the Clinical Lead for Simulation. You will contribute to the development of the immersive simulation and clinical skills programme in NHS Ayrshire & Arran including scenario and course development.
