Job summary

Responsibilities

• Based at Cross site and support senior leaders in delivering emergency/elective care performance targets.
• Provide clinical leadership, support and education across staff groups.
• Act as a clinical expert to ensure high quality patient care using evidence-based practice.
• Take accountability for management of clinical risk and out-of-hours complaints.
• Triage acute adult in-patients and refer to appropriate medical teams when needed.
• Work as part of the Hospital at Night team.
• Coordinate patient flow through hospital to ensure capacity and safe admissions.
• Be aware of out-of-hours budget issues and act accordingly.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to achieve performance targets.
• Represent management on site out-of-hours on behalf of line manager.
• Work with Senior Clinical Site Practitioners in 24-hour hospital management.

and main responsibilities

• 1. Based at Cross site. This senior role will support the Head and Deputy Head of Site Practitioners and the Emergency Operational Lead in the delivery of the trust key performance targets in emergency/elective care.
• 2. Clinical leadership, support and education across a range of staff groups.
• 3. To be a clinical expert and to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care through instructions, supervise and support to patients, families and all allied health professionals within the trust, using evidence based practice.
• 4. To be accountable for the management of clinical risk and out of hours complaints.
• 5. Triage of acute adults in-patients, with referral to the appropriate medical teams if required.
• 6. To work as part of the Hospital at night team.
• 7. To co-ordinate the flow of patients through the hospital both elective and emergency allowing for sufficient capacity and safe placement of all admissions.
• 8. To be aware of out of hours budget issues and to act accordingly.
• 9. To work alongside clinical teams to ensure performance targets are achieved.
• 10. To take responsibility for the management of the site ‘out of hours’ liaising with the appropriate manager as necessary.
• 11. To act as management representative to all staff on site ‘out of hours’ on behalf of their line manager.
• 12. To work with Senior Clinical Site Practitioners and participate in the 24 hour management of the Hospital.
