Responsibilities

We are looking for applicants to join the Vaccinology Group at the Centre for Neonatal and Paediatric Infection. The post holder will be responsible for driving research into vaccine‑preventable diseases in a global health context and training academic clinicians. We would like to hear from highly competent candidates with a strong international track record of research in maternal and neonatal vaccination clinical trials and immunology.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a PhD in vaccinology or another relevant discipline, a UK‑registerable basic medical qualification, and CCT in paediatrics with a sub‑specialty interest or specialist training in paediatric infection and immunology, with full registration with the General Medical Council. A proven track record of high‑quality research, a clear and ambitious plan for future research, and the ability to secure external research funding are essential. Candidates need the ability to develop and deliver research‑led teaching and assessment and successfully supervise PhD students. Clinical experience is essential, with demonstrable, significant and ongoing experience in Paediatric Infectious Diseases and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
