Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Research Practitioner/Research Nurse to join an established clinical research unit, based at Hammersmith Hospital. The post holder will be working in non-malignant haematology research on a range of interventional and non-interventional studies.

The successful applicant will play an integral role in the delivery of high quality research within the non-malignant haematology. You will be required to work collaboratively with the clinical and wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your own caseload and will also be responsible for managing a portfolio of clinical trials, contributing to the assessment and management of care pathways for patients participating in research. The role demands excellent communication, a sound understanding of complex scientific protocols, and the ability to work autonomously. Prior NHS experience, a mature attitude, leadership skills and initiative are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Be a key role in the delivery of the operational aspects of non-malignant haematology research trials.
  • Provide expertise to ensure the timely delivery of the growing portfolio of studies undertaken within Imperial while ensuring the needs of patient care are at the centre of delivery.
  • Support the Trust’s aim to improve the speed, quality, and integration of clinical research through successful delivery of clinical research in the NHS.
  • Support the delivery and development of the research portfolio by identifying suitable participants, coordinating recruitment, performing and maintaining study documentation.
  • Enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice, information, and acting as the patient’s advocate.
  • Plan, manage and prioritise your own work demands while collaborating within a wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Safeguard the well-being of research participants and ensure all research is conducted to ICH Good Clinical Practice.
