Job summary

The Research Nurse will join the Research and Development team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to oversee a wide variety of studies across disease sites. You will recruit, educate and monitor trial participants, collect data, and work with senior nurses and multidisciplinary teams to deliver study milestones.

Welsh/English language ability is desirable; the post supports professional development within a large North Wales health organisation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Experience of MDT contact and meeting targets.
• Knowledge of clinical and/or research terminology (Desirable).
• Evidence of continued professional development (Desirable).
• Experience undertaking clinical research (Desirable).
• Ability to communicate complex information to patients and carers (Aptitude).
• Well organized and able to plan own workload (Aptitude).

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the delivery of allocated research studies.
• Ensure that the delivery of studies meets governance and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
• Contribute to study setup, recruitment planning and study delivery.
• Coordinate and run study visits and manage data collection.
• Maintain accurate records and manage the Trial Master File.
• Escalate ongoing study performance issues to senior staff.
• Assist in study close down and dissemination of results.
