Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) invites a registered nurse to join the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility. You will coordinate participant recruitment, treatment, education, monitoring and follow-up while ensuring accurate study documentation and high standards of care throughout the research journey.

You will work with Principal and Chief Investigators, manage your own caseload, and contribute to a varied portfolio of clinical research across NHSGGC sites.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with live NMC pin and degree-level education.
• Post-registration experience in acute clinical setting.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Proficient in MS Office and electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Practice within the Legal & Ethical framework as established by NMC and national legislation to ensure patient interests and wellbeing are met.
• Maintain a professional manner with patients and multidisciplinary team.
• Develop knowledge through evidence-based practice and ongoing learning.
• Conduct clinical research in accordance with current governance requirements.
• Develop understanding of ethical and professional issues surrounding consenting patients or volunteers to clinical trials.
• Provide high standard of care to patients and volunteers in research projects and trials.
• Assess, plan and deliver research interventions per protocol.
• Ensure work follows protocol and trial design.
• Develop clinical skills including venepuncture and cannulation.
