Job summary

A healthcare trust in the UK is seeking two full-time Clinical Research Nurses to manage clinical trials portfolios collaboratively. Candidates will coordinate patient studies, facilitate research setups, and ensure participant welfare. Strong autonomy in clinical decision-making is required. This role offers the chance to work on COVID-19 trials and other significant studies. The closing date for applications is Monday 17 Nov 2025.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • The post holder will be responsible for the co‑ordination and management of a clinical research portfolio at St George’s Hospital.
  • The post holder will work collaboratively with the research teams and wider multidisciplinary team in the management of their own caseload of clinical trials patients and be accountable for the achievement of local and national targets in relation to the service.
  • Facilitating study set‑up; identifying suitable patients through the process of MDTs/screening notes; collecting data; interviewing; supporting and monitoring patients and data entry. The post holder will also be expected to have sufficient skills to enable patients to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients advocate.
  • The post holder must also be willing to move to different clinical specialties within the remit of their qualifications and where the need to do so is identified.
  • Co‑ordination of COVID‑19 trials and other trials. The post holder will be required to work on these as well.
  • Work with a high level of autonomy, taking delegated responsibility from clinicians for clinical decision making, and will work closely with investigators and multidisciplinary staff.
  • Advocate for patients and empower them to make informed choices concerning their involvement in clinical research studies by providing advice and information.
  • Provide high quality data collection and clinical care, with a commitment to participant safety and welfare, liaising with Principal Investigators and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
