Job description
Clinical Research Fellow – UCL/UCLH Institute of Neurology, Ataxia Centre

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow to work in the Ataxia Centre, UCL/H Agency, under the supervision of Prof Paola Giunti. The role offers an opportunity to gain experience in translational research as part of an internationally recognised multi‑disciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a sub‑investigator in a phase 1/2a open‑label trial studying the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of intrathecally administered VO659 in patients with spinocerebellar ataxia types 1 and 3.
  • Assist in the design and execution of the clinical trial, including data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Participate in basic and observational research, such as longitudinal studies of dominant and recessive ataxias and at‑risk groups, to identify reliable biomarkers and develop new therapeutic targets.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators, other Clinical Research Fellows and Clinical Trials nurses to provide clinical and research input into the Centre’s programmes.

  • Excellent skill in performing lumbar puncture.
  • Strong inter‑personal and collaborative skills and a record of academic and clinical excellence.
