This role offers a preceptorship opportunity for recent graduates or an 8A position for experienced practitioners. Clinical Psychologist – Preceptorship Opportunity

An enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist is needed to join our Adult Learning Disability Community Service within the Rotherham Doncaster & South Humber NHS Foundation Trust. The role is based in Rotherham and offers a preceptorship opportunity or an 8A position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person‑centred care to people with learning disabilities and comorbid mental health difficulties, distress behaviour and/or autism.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, write formulations and deliver interventions across established clinical pathways.
  • Support and embed formulation within the service, helping colleagues understand and use it to plan interventions.
  • Work at both systemic and individual levels, supporting the learning of others in the team through teaching and training.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, communicating clearly and acting as a supportive member of the service.
Qualifications & Experience
  • HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist.
  • Experience working with people with learning disabilities and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and deliver effective interventions for diverse pathways including autism and growing‑old with learning disability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to relate well with this clinical group.
  • Willingness to undertake clinical supervision and participate in ongoing professional development.
