This post will be a clinical post working in the community directly with adults with learning disabilities, their families and carers. The role will involve working across clinical pathways of mental health and positive behavioural support and liaising with partner organisations. You will contribute to governance within the department, such as audits, and training that the department provides to colleagues. The post is a permanent Band 7 post, and will be in the community (either seeing clients at base, home visits or at other sites in the community) across the whole Newcastle patch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consultation, assessment formulation and intervention (both direct and indirect)
  • Neuropsychological assessment
  • Multi‑disciplinary work
  • Supervision and training and group work

You will be part of a supportive and experienced team of clinicians who work closely together. Your main responsibilities will be clinical, developing your therapeutic and neuropsychological skills in working with adults with a learning disability, and offering consultation, supervision and training to colleagues.

Experience of working psychologically with adults with a learning disability and/or other neurodiverse conditions will be an advantage. Regular supervision from qualified clinicians will be provided, and there are good opportunities for further training within the Trust.
