Job summary

Evolve Psychology Services is seeking a HCPC-registered psychologist to deliver high‑quality neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people. You will conduct structured observations and remote history interviews within a multidisciplinary team to support accurate diagnoses and timely referrals.

The role involves producing detailed reports, providing compassionate feedback to families, and collaborating on MDT discussions.

Qualifications

  • Must hold HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Educational).
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience conducting diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD in children and young people.
  • Strong understanding of differential diagnosis in neurodevelopmental presentations.
  • In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 criteria for autism and ADHD.
  • Trained in diagnostic tools such as ADOS‑2, ADI‑R, etc.
  • Effective time management and caseload organisation to meet clinical deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and participate in collaborative diagnostic discussions.
  • High-quality written language skills for reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face structured observations as part of neurodevelopmental assessments.
  • Conduct remote developmental history interviews via Zoom.
  • Participate in peer MDT diagnostic discussions with senior clinicians.
  • Deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families.
  • Produce accurate clinical reports including diagnostic formulations with smart tools.
  • Meet service KPIs and participate in clinical supervision where applicable.
  • Contribute to research or service development as needed.
  • Travel to a clinic base for in-person assessments (hybrid work).

The role

At Evolve Psychology Services, we equip our clinicians with cutting‑edge tools and support to help them focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care to children, young people and their families.

You’ll join a passionate and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people. Our service specialises in high‑quality, evidence‑based assessments for autism and ADHD, delivered through both NHS‑funded referrals and private pathways. As part of your role, you’ll contribute to comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments, helping ensure timely, accurate diagnoses that lead to appropriate support and improved outcomes for families.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Conducting face‑to‑face structured observations as part of the neurodevelopmental assessment process.
  • Conducting remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers via Zoom
  • Participating collaboratively in peer MDT diagnostic discussions, supported by senior clinicians where needed
  • Delivering clear, compassionate feedback to families
  • Producing accurate clinical reports, including diagnostic formulations, with the help of our smart tools
  • Working efficiently to meet service Key Performance Indicatiors (KPIs)
  • Delivering clinical supervision (where applicable)
  • Additional responsibilities may be added, depending on the needs of the service/ previous experience, such as consultation to other clinicians in areas of your knowledge and expertise, quality checking assessment reports, service development projects
  • Able to travel to a clinic base to conduct in‑person assessments, (hybrid only)

Qualifications And Experience

  • Well‑developed communication skills with children, young people, and their families, ensuring compassionate, clear, and professional interactions throughout the assessment process
