Position Overview

We are really excited to invite compassionate, dedicated applicants for a 1.0 WTE post for an 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist to lead our S and W CMHT psychological therapists. The team supports service users with complex mental health presentations associated with a high level of intersectional difficulties. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced candidate who is passionate about making a difference for our service users with complex mental health needs, working closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team, families and service users, and who uses a trauma‑informed approach to working with service users.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Team Managers to provide clinical leadership for psychological therapists in the S and W CMHT including managing waiting lists, supervising assistant psychologists, recruitment, reflective spaces, training, and representation at locality leadership meetings.
  • Provide supervision and training for trainee clinical psychologists from the Leeds Doctorate programme.
  • Provide specialist evidence‑based psychological assessment, formulation & therapy, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, consultation and advice on psychological therapies.
  • Provide clinical consultation and advice to healthcare professionals across all localities.
  • Support adherence to relevant NICE guidance and clinical governance arrangements.
  • Ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area.
  • Work with the Team/Clinical Manager on service development, leading research and development activities.
