Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Great Yarmouth is seeking an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for their Paediatric Community Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. The role involves conducting psychological assessments and working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to support neurodiverse children and their families. The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in clinical psychology and experience in paediatric care. Opportunities for Band 7 preceptorship are also available depending on skills and experience.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 8a) to join the Paediatric Community Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team at James Paget Hospital. We are a specialist multi‑disciplinary team, who are passionate about developing services and completing high quality and clinically rigorous assessments. We cover the Great Yarmouth and Waveney area.

Responsibilities
  • Complete specialist psychological assessments as part of multi‑disciplinary NDD diagnostic pathways.
  • Contribute expert formulation to support accurate, compassionate, timely diagnoses.
  • Work closely with paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and education partners.
  • Provide consultation, supervision and psychological input across the wider community paediatrics service.
  • Support pathway development, quality improvement and evidence‑based practice as the service grows.
  • Work collaboratively with families, listening to their experiences and advocating for their needs.
