Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist - Dermatology

The Dermatology department is looking for an enthusiastic, forward‑thinking, and motivated nurse to join our team as a Band 6 Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist.

You will work as a skilled practitioner and be responsible for the delivery of patient‑focused programmes of care, which address the complex and changing health and wellbeing needs of patients with dermatology related conditions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide high quality essential care to patients with dermatological conditions in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner.

The post holder will:

  • Provide high quality clinical practice. Be proactive in clinical decision making, underpinned by theoretical and practical knowledge and be able to demonstrate improved patient care outcomes.
  • Take designated responsibility for discrete areas of operational management/clinical practice.
  • Support change, monitor and improve standards through supervision, evidence‑based practice, clinical audit, research, and education. To promote and demonstrate best practice by integrating evidence into practice.
  • Undertake holistic assessment of patients and carers needs. This will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating the care delivery according to changing healthcare needs.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge in relation to pattern of dermatology conditions, markers of condition progression and range of treatment available at each stage of condition.
