Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Nurse Specialist to join our established Nurse Specialist Team at Ipswich Hospital, in a developmental position. Our dedicated Nurse Specialists provide an excellent, patient‑focused service to support and manage patients with a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. This service is forward‑thinking and continually reviews and develops innovative models of care to ensure patients receive appropriate and timely treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical expertise and support to patients, their family and carers.
  • Ensure safe delivery and continuation of patient care by coordinating patients through their pathway.
  • Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, liaising with healthcare teams internal and external to the organisation.
  • Provide an advice line service so patients can access expert advice in a timely manner.
  • Use the electronic patient record (EPR) system (Epic) as part of the Trust's digital transformation.
Qualifications
  • Recent gastroenterology nursing experience.
  • Strong motivation and dedication to develop within 12 months, progressing from Band 6 to 7.
  • Experience working on own initiative and prioritising workload.
  • Excellent communication skills.
