Job description

The Role:

On behalf of our client we are seeking a dedicated and proactive Clinical Negligence Paralegal to support solicitors within our Claimant Medical Negligence Department. You will play a key role in assisting with the preparation and management of medical negligence claims, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and with exceptional client care. The position involves legal research, document drafting, client and expert liaison, and administrative support to help deliver successful case outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support solicitors in the day-to-day management of clinical negligence cases from inception to settlement or trial.
  • Conduct legal research into case law, legislation, and medical issues relevant to claims.
  • Draft legal documents, including letters of claim, witness statements, and instructions to experts and counsel.
  • Review and analyse medical records, expert reports, and related documentation.
  • Prepare case bundles for court proceedings, hearings, and settlement meetings.
  • Liaise with medical experts, counsel, and other third parties to obtain necessary evidence and reports.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
  • Manage client communications, handling queries with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant electronic case files.
  • Organise and prioritise your workload effectively to meet deadlines and case objectives.

Skills & Experience:

  • A law degree (or working towards one) or prior experience in a similar legal role with strong administrative background.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding client service and upholding the firm’s values of excellence and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
