Job summary

• Offer practical and emotional support to patients and families throughout treatment.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the haematology nursing team as a clinical cancer navigator. The Haematology team are a dynamic and diverse group who are friendly and welcoming to all and they would train, supervise and support the successful candidate throughout.

The postholder will support the operational delivery of haemato-oncology clinical services by taking an active role in supporting CNS and MDT teams with the support and management of care pathways for haematology patients.

The role would primarily consist of:

• Providing support and information to Haemato-oncology patients including those with lymphoma,
• Assisting with the NHS Cancer Programme FDS (faster diagnosis framework) and improving quality of life outcomes, living with and beyond cancer.
• Involves daily and direct communication with patients, relatives, carers and other health and social care professionals.
• Supporting the haematology specialist nurses with duties including triaging phone calls and assisting with administrative duties.
