Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust's mental health and learning disabilities pharmacy team is forward‑thinking and patient‑focused. The post holder will join ward‑based teams on Stockport and Tameside, supporting medicines management, reconciliation and safe handling of medicines on the wards.

You will deliver training, contribute to audits, data collection and action planning, and work with the wider pharmacy team under the Chief Technician.

Job description

The mental health and learning disabilities pharmacy team in Pennine Care is progressive and forward-thinking and provides an inpatient and community mental health medicines optimisation service. We are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to an enthusiastic technician to join the pharmacy team and aid in the development and delivery of pharmacy services to the mental health wards located in Stockport and Tameside. The post holder will support the delivery of pharmacy services to optimise the use of medicines on the mental health wards. They will work within a ward based locality pharmacy team day to day and will be required to manage their own schedule while working with the wider pharmacy team. They will be managed professionally by the Chief Technician. The Trust's dedicated team of pharmacists and technicians, receive regular management and clinical supervision, to maintain their wellbeing, and attend team and governance meetings. The post holder will also deliver training in medicines management, review and update guidance in relation to safe and secure handling of medicines, undertake medicines reconciliation and participate in audit work, data collection, anyalysis and action planning.As this is a clinical post, there is no dispensary commitment and no requirement for emergency duty, bank holiday or weekend working.
