Job description
Overview

A skilled Speech and Language Therapist will join the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves managing patients with complex dysphagia and communication impairments across community and specialist outpatient settings.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients and carers across multiple sites.
  • Provide assessment, differential diagnosis and management of communication and swallowing disorders, including leading the weekly Videofluoroscopy service.
  • Embed best practice within the team, supporting colleagues, auditing quality of care and reviewing research and innovations.
  • Monitor and evaluate service capacity in partnership with the Team Manager and Senior Operational Manager.
  • Lead quality improvement projects as part of the Advanced Clinical Specialists leadership team.
  • Participate in student education, professional networks and quality placement initiatives.
