Job overview

We are looking for a Band 6 Clinical Lead to join our established team in our modern acute mental health ward in Macclesfield.

Mulberry Ward is a 26-bed mixed gender ward providing specialist mental health inpatient assessment and treatment.

Main duties of the job
  • 1. Source of expertise for clinical practice for the care team. Able to demonstrate, through personal skills and achievement, a high level of patient care, using processes such as role modelling and supervision.
  • 2. To undertake audit of evidence-based interventions to ensure continued best practice.
  • 3. Engage with MDT to ensure holistic patient centred care planning.
  • 4. Able to assess, evaluate and advise staff on care planning and discharge planning.
  • 5. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the identification and management of risk.
  • 6. Develop ways to improve efficiency and patient care.

Qualifications

  • High level of clinical expertise

  • Clear understanding of social inclusion/equality/diversity.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity within the healthcare setting.
  • Awareness of current mental health issues, debates and practice
  • Knowledge and understanding of physical health needs
  • A willingness to undertake further training.
  • Knowledge of the MHA and MCA
Experience
  • Significant experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Working with service users with severe mental health problems utilising user/carer involvement.
  • Demonstrate alignment with Trust Values (6 C’s: Commitment, Communication, Care, Courage, Compassion, Competency)
