Job summary

Eurofins is seeking a Waste Disposal Technician to manage safe handling, treatment, and disposal of clinical and microbiological waste in a food testing lab. You will operate the on-site disposal instrument, ensure correct waste segregation, and maintain records, while following biosafety rules and quality policies.

This full-time role runs Mon-Fri, 10:00–18:00. You will contribute to waste management, containment, and environmental compliance, with PPE use and routine inspections to uphold high

Qualifications

• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Manual handling training and lab safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Collect, handle, and process laboratory pathogen waste in accordance with approved procedures and biosafety requirements.
• Operate the on-site waste disposal instrument safely to treat microbiological waste prior to disposal.
• Ensure all waste is correctly segregated and prepared before treatment.
• Monitor the performance of the waste disposal instrument and report faults or issues.
• Complete records relating to waste treatment, disposal, checks and equipment usage.
• Ensure PPE is used when handling laboratory waste.
• Transfer waste to appropriate collection, storage, or disposal locations.
• Maintain waste corridors, storage areas, and disposal facilities to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Report spills, safety concerns, defects, or non-conformances promptly.
