Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is recruiting a Biomedical Assistant in the Pathology department (Blood Sciences). The role supports Haematology and Biochemistry with sample receipt, data entry and sample preparation on a 24/7 shift pattern at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The successful candidate will have GCSEs ( Maths & English), basic computer skills and a meticulous approach. Training will be provided to carry out duties effectively across the lab environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE level (Maths and English)
• Attention to detail with healthcare environment exposure
• Strong organisational skills and ability to plan
• Willingness to learn on the job and follow training

Responsibilities

• Assist in provision of laboratory services in Haematology/Blood Sciences
• Handle receipt and data entry of samples
• Prepare samples for analysis and carry out routine housekeeping duties
• Work across 24/7 shift patterns including nights and weekends
• Ensure paperwork is accurate with correct grammar and spelling
