Clinical Homecare Nurse - Kent & Sussex (Part Time)

We are seeking a dedicated NMC registered nurse in the Kent and Sussex area to join our healthcare team. The Clinical Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care and administering a range of medications. This role needs a compassionate individual who has excellent communication skills and is committed to putting the patient first.

As more and more patients are treated outside a traditional hospital setting, the role of the home care Nurse is developing. We work in a variety of environments such as clinics, residential accommodation and patients' own homes. We are able to treat individuals at school or even in a work environment. Our nurses help the NHS meet the needs of elderly, disabled or vulnerable patients who may not be able to easily visit the hospital. We are able to help support our patients to become more independent in the management of their treatment and to make the whole treatment journey more convenient.

You will need to be kind, compassionate and caring with a desire to provide excellent patient experience and safe and effective care.

Main duties of the job

Duties

  • Perform patient observations and ensure that any patient is fit to proceed with their treatment
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the medical team
  • Provide compassionate support to the patient and family
  • Educate patients and their families to promote understanding and independence.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams ensuring that patient safety is paramount.

Requirements

  • Current NMC registration
  • Experience of administering S/C, IM or IV medications
  • SACT experience
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Willingness to work autonomously

Person Specification
Experience
  • Substantial post‑registration experience in a clinical setting. Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders. Self‑motivated and energetic approach, showing interest in understanding the business and industry. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience of the pharmaceutical industry or out‑of‑hospital services. Knowledge of out‑of‑hospital services and pharmacy services. Knowledge of home‑care / out‑of‑hospital systems and practices.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with a current NMC pin and Nursing Qualification. Commitment to CPD and engagement in training/development relevant to the role.
  • Attainment of a recognised chemotherapy qualification.
