About our ward:

Ward 1B is based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston Lincolnshire.

We are a busy 9-bedded inpatient ward specialising in Gynaecology and Women's health. We also run a Gynaecology assessment unit assessing and treating up to 3 emergency patients at a time.

We care for women with various gynaecological conditions such as early pregnancy complications up to 20 weeks gestation, care of women undergoing pregnancy loss up to 16 weeks, medical and social termination of pregnancy, gynaecological cancer care at stages of diagnosis, treatment and end of life, as well as other conditions. We also care for women undergoing elective procedures like hysterectomies.

The team on Ward 1B is extremely supportive and ensures you are well supported in your role. All new starters will receive a trust induction, enrolment onto a bespoke Support Worker training programme, and a period of supernumerary time for the first few weeks. You will also be supported to complete additional learning and role-specific training.

Main duties of the job include:

  1. Delivering care to women and supporting the multidisciplinary team.
