Job description

As a Bank Clinical Governance Lead you will provide proactive, high-quality governance leadership and support to hospital senior leaders, and support the Director of Governance and Risk to implement the first line of defence assurance framework in Cromwell Hospital. The role champions digital adoption and process efficiency, leveraging tools like Microsoft 365 and Copilot, Datix, SAI365 and QPulse to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. As a Bank Clinical Governance Lead you will maintain a visible, professional presence across Cromwell and London Diagnostic sites. You shall support audit and assurance activity, specifically supporting sites to implement the hospital quality review program, and prepare Cromwell Hospital for CQC inspection.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, up-to-date secondary care governance support to governance team members.
  • Review meeting packs for IGC and RCC.
  • Assess complaint response letters.
  • Complete stage 1 and 2 complaint investigations.
  • Lead and co‑coordinate market unit and group internal audits across Cromwell.
  • Support with incident investigations and line management of the governance team.
  • Manage communications and correspondence with discretion, good judgement and efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships across departments and external partners to ensure alignment and smooth information flow.
  • Support local governance teams with Datix, SAI360 and QPulse.
  • Prepare reports for the Executive Team to monitor site progress with implementation of action plans.
  • Provide clinical expertise for incident reports and complaint responses.
Qualifications
  • Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
  • 10+ years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse within a secondary care environment.
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior leadership role, providing strategic direction and operational oversight.
  • Strong governance expertise, ensuring compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Proven experience in complex acute care settings.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, consistently delivering high standards of care and service.
  • Advanced digital proficiency, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel) and confidence in adopting new technologies.
  • Comfortable using and learning AI tools and automation platforms to enhance efficiency.
  • Highly organised, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Professional, discreet and resilient when working under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable, balancing hybrid working with regular on‑site presence across London hospitals and diagnostic facilities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building and influencing skills across multidisciplinary teams.
