Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Scientist for the Haem-Onc cytogenetics team at Addenbrooke's. You will analyze FISH and G-banded karyotype data to support leukemia diagnosis and contribute to a high-quality regional service.

The role requires several years of hands-on experience in cytogenetics, with SNP array knowledge desirable. Training, supervision, and leadership duties are included within an NHS framework.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience analyzing FISH and G-banded karyotype analysis.
• Experience with genomic testing for leukaemia diagnosis would be advantageous.
• Experience in a UKAS accredited laboratory and quality management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret, report and authorize hematology cancer cytogenomic tests.
• Deliver and maintain a high-quality diagnostic service to regional oncology services.
• Provide expert advice to clinicians and colleagues.
• Manage a small team of scientists including recruitment and training.
• Drive continuous improvement and development of laboratory services.
• Ensure ISO:15189 compliance through the quality management system.
