A leading NHS trust in the UK is seeking a Clinical Fellow to support various responsibilities in the respiratory department. The role includes training in advanced bronchoscopy and patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidates will also supervise junior doctors and participate in a structured training program. Opportunities for career progression and involvement in clinical research are available.
The clinical fellow would be supported with their carrier progression. There will be supported to develop the practical skills including basic and advanced bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, interventional bronchoscopy, pleural procedures. Their job role will include inpatient and outpatient commitments, and supporting the consultant clinics. There is a weekly lung cancer multidisciplinary team meeting, and a respiratory radiology MDT. There is plentiful opportunity to progress and we would welcome our clinical fellows to progress over time and join our department as a specialty doctor.
The post holder would have some responsibility for the IMT/FY2/FY1 doctors supervision and would report to the consultant of the week in the respiratory ward, participate in the acute medical oncall and would be given a structured weekly rota which puts emphasis on the training needs of the posts with attendance in bronchoscopy and outpatient clinics. There will be rostered time for doing audits/clinical research.
