A leading children's hospital in Camden Town is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Ophthalmology for a one-year fixed term. The position includes outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and ward referrals. Candidates should possess experience in paediatric ophthalmology and strong communication skills. We are recruiting a fixed term, one-year Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Ophthalmology (ST6+) to join Great Ormond Street Hospital. The fellow will have 6 outpatient clinics, 1–2 theatre sessions, 1/2 non-clinical sessions and 1–2 ward referral sessions per week. Theatre sessions will provide experience assisting at complex procedures including corneal grafting, glaucoma, infant lens implantation and oculoplastic procedures. Depending on previous surgical experience and skills, the fellow may undertake paediatric cataract and strabismus surgery under consultant supervision. The fellow will arrange, with the support of the clinician's assistant and clinical nurse specialist, the operating list, perform medical clerking and admission, see patients post-operatively after theatre on the day and the next morning, and prescribe medications and write discharge summaries.

The recruitment process for admin and clerical roles at Bands 2–4 includes a two-stage process with an online literacy, numeracy, ICT and typing test; only those who pass will proceed to a formal interview.
