Job description
Overview

Opportunity for an anaesthetic or ICM speciality doctor or trainee to join the team at Hammersmith Hospital ICU. The department supports a supportive and collaborative environment for junior medical colleagues and is active in research, academia, teaching and quality improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support research initiatives within the directorate and the Trust, in line with previous experience.
  • Participate in local teaching (both undergraduate and postgraduate) and engage in projects as agreed with an educational supervisor.
  • Attend and contribute to clinical governance meetings, ensuring accurate written communication with patients, relatives and staff and documentation consistent with GMC guidelines.
  • Complete mandatory administrative duties and senior managerial duties as agreed, with appropriate time set aside for facilitation.
  • Fulfil shift patterns: 08:00‑17:30 short days, 08:00‑21:00 long days, 20:00‑09:00 nights, compliant with junior doctor terms & conditions of service 2016.
Academic Opportunities

An honorary academic appointment with Imperial College Faculty of Medicine will be offered if research and/or teaching is undertaken.

Qualifications and Experience

Senior clinical fellow level speciality doctors in anaesthetics or ICM with experience working with complex medical patients with critical illness. A willingness to develop clinical and non‑clinical skills in cardiothoracic intensive care is desirable.
