A regional healthcare provider in Greenhill is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Genetics. The role involves providing comprehensive genetic services, running clinics, and managing patient referrals. Candidates should have experience in clinical genetics and demonstrate flexibility in providing consultations. This position promotes equality and is open to various flexible working arrangements.
The North West Thames Regional Genetics Service (NWTRGS) is a Clinical Genetics service offering genetic counselling, genetic diagnosis and ongoing management for individuals and families in North West London, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The clinical genetics team comprises around 8.6 full‑time equivalent (FTE) consultants, 14 genetic counsellors with specialist interests, several trainees and genomic associates, and works closely with multidisciplinary colleagues at Imperial Hospital Healthcare Trust and other sites. Applications for a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Genetics in Rare Diseases and/or Cancer are welcome.
The Clinical Fellow will provide Clinical Genetics services to both children and adults within NWTRGS, including running rare disease clinics, prenatal work, and potentially cancer genetics clinics. The Fellow will evaluate, diagnose, and manage referred individuals and families, arrange appropriate investigations, liaise with Clinical Scientists in the Genomic Laboratory Hubs, and make timely referrals. The role requires flexibility to offer face‑to‑face, virtual and telephone consultations, travel to peripheral clinics, and participation in audit and departmental clinical governance. The Fellow may also channel specific condition groups into dedicated clinics and attend relevant multidisciplinary team meetings.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk. All staff will promote the wellbeing and safety of our patients and carers, responding promptly to concerns and sharing information appropriately. Positions involving vulnerable groups require an enhanced criminal records check. Candidates must provide consent for continuous updates of their criminal records throughout their employment.
As part of our commitment to equality and diversity, we encourage applications from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) candidates to ensure our workforce reflects the communities we serve.
We are a flexible working friendly organisation. If you require a flexible working arrangement—whether that is job sharing, part time or another pattern—we would be happy to explore how we can accommodate it.
