A regional healthcare provider in Harrow is seeking a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Genetics with a focus on Rare Diseases and/or Cancer. The role involves providing genetic counselling, conducting consultations, and participating in clinical governance. Candidates should have expertise in clinical genetics and be flexible in line with service demands. This position offers the opportunity for involvement in audit and multidisciplinary clinics.
The North West Thames Regional Genetics Service (NWTRGS) is a Clinical Genetics service which offers genetic counselling, genetic diagnosis and ongoing management recommendations to individuals and families living in the region (North West London, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire). The clinical genetics team is comprised of a group of experienced clinicians (10 (8.6 WTE) Consultants, 14 Genetic Counsellors with a wide range of specialist interests, a number of trainees, and Genomic Associates). The service also offers multidisciplinary clinics with colleagues at Imperial Hospital Healthcare Trust and other sites. Clinical Genetics falls under the Division of Integrated Clinical Services.
Applications for a Clinical Fellow in Clinical Genetics in Rare Diseases and/or Cancer are welcome.
The clinical fellow would need to show some flexibility in accordance with the demands of the service and be able to provide both face-to-face, virtual, and telephone consultations. There may need to be a degree of flexibility on the working days in the week. Some travel to peripheral clinics will probably also be required.
It would be possible for the clinical fellow to indicate an interest in certain groups of conditions, which may then be channelled to the clinical fellow’s clinics. The clinical fellow would be encouraged to participate in audit and the departmental clinical governance.
