Clinical Fellow in Bone Marrow Transplantation, CAR‑T Cell Therapy and Paediatric Haematology
We are seeking two Clinical Fellows (equivalent of ST5 banding) for 30 month Fellowship Programme
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is seeking two exceptional Clinical Fellows to join a unique three-year programme in Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT)/CAR‑T Cell Therapy and Paediatric Haematology. Supported through partnerships with the Lloyd's of London Foundation and Dear Toby Trust, these posts offer an unparalleled opportunity to combine advanced clinical training, translational research and leadership development within one of the world's leading paediatric cellular therapy programmes.
This fellowship has been specifically designed to critical challenges facing the field today: improving continuity of care for children undergoing highly intensive therapies, advancing research into safer and more effective treatments, and training the next generation of clinician‑scientists.
This post is suitable for a doctor who has completed their core training in general paediatrics and has additional training in paediatric Haematology/Oncology and/or BMT who wishes to gain more in‑depth experience of paediatric Haematology and BMT in a large busy unit. All posts are accredited as training posts and will help the appointee gain further career progression.
The Fellow will undertake 18 months within the BMT/CAR‑T service and one year undertaking supervised laboratory‑based translational research. Throughout the fellowship, the postholder will contribute to the care of children with malignant and non‑malignant disorders requiring haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cellular therapies and gene therapy, while developing expertise in the management of complex transplant‑related complications and novel therapeutic approaches.
A central objective of the fellowship is to enhance continuity of care for children and families undergoing prolonged and complex treatments, improving patient experience while supporting the delivery of high‑quality, multidisciplinary care. The Fellow will also contribute to clinical trials, quality improvement initiatives and translational research, with the expectation of producing peer‑reviewed publications and presenting research at national and international scientific meetings.
