Job description
Overview

A bi‑weekly skull base multidisciplinary team meeting takes place in a dedicated video conferencing room. Specialist NF2 MDTs occur every six months. The department is supported by a state‑of‑the‑art audiological service. Candidates should be trained in all aspects of lateral skull base and neuro‑otological procedures, with possible exposure to anterior skull base and extended endoscopic anterior skull base surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and presentation of patients in the MDT.
  • Provide specialist input in NF2 and skull base MDTs.
  • Participate in national and international training courses.
  • Support research, audit and publication activities.
Essential Criteria
  • FRCS (ORL–HNS) or equivalent.
  • Completed at least ST7 or equivalent higher surgical training in Otolaryngology.
  • Peri‑ or post‑CCT.
  • Valid UK professional registration.
  • Excellent teamwork and teaching ability.
  • Basic surgical skill set in otology and skull base surgery.
Desirable Criteria
  • Higher qualifications: MD, BSc, MPhil, PhD.
  • Completed at least ST6 or equivalent higher surgical training in Otolaryngology.
  • CST rotational experience in Neurosurgery.
  • Evidence of audit and research publications in surgery.
  • Flexibility to work across related specialties.

One year clinical Fellowship in Otology, Neurotology / Adult Skull Base surgery commencing 5 August 2026.
